With FreeDAM, you can now get a head start on funeral arrangements.

When a first call comes in for a new case, you have the option to send the family a link to a secure site where they can begin entering information.

This typically includes the details required by BDM to register a death. Families can also add information about relatives and specify who will be responsible for the account.

In addition, they can review your terms and conditions, indicating whether they accept them or would like to discuss them further.

Families also have the ability to leave notes directly for the funeral arranger.

The process would be….

  • The family contacts the funeral home for assistance with a death.
  • The arranger creates a new case in FreeDAM.
  • The arranger records the email address of the person responsible (next of kin).
  • A unique code is generated in FreeDAM.
  • This code, along with a secure web link, is emailed to the next of kin.
  • The next of kin open the link and enter the code, along with the deceased’s surname, to access the portal.
  • The next of kin complete as much of the required information as they wish.
  • FreeDAM flags that the family is actively entering data.
  • The arranger reviews the information on the portal review page, making adjustments (e.g., correcting spelling, capitalizing place names) before accepting the data into FreeDAM.
  • The arranger can then print a Death Certificate Proof and any other required documents for signing prior to the arrangement.
